REVIEWS
"Here, of course, the voice dominates everything, as Chrysa Tsaltabasi possesses both range and expressiveness, blending post-metal with ambient trip hop or even pure piano-driven pop in a way that feels completely natural."
Metal Hammer 8/10
"A melting pot of ideas, contrasting textures, and influences (ranging from Ulver and Dead Can Dance to the vocal acrobatics of Mike Patton and Diamanda Galas), 'Dysphonia' constructs its own microcosm and adds much to the legacy of Spineless." Rocking.gr
"Dysphonia is exactly this: a harmonious mix of genres - both extreme and not -, of vocal styles, of ideas and successful attempts to find the balance between dozens of different elements. A round of applause to Chrysa Tsaltampasi , who was able to create all this."
Grind on the road
"Chrysa's vocals are impassioned and varied, from soaring emotional cleans, to haunting mids and even some extreme screams/roars used to terrifying effect on the Aphex Twin-like Nozz. "
Musipedia of metal
"Songs like ‘You’ and ‘Where am I?’ see her force her voice through barriers the way a person puts their full body weight into an effort to barge through a heavy door. Add in the distorted bass and grinding drum patterns and you have an album that can stand next to the latest effort from Julie Christmas." Scream Blast Repeat
"This experimentation yields a brilliant sonic outcome: an album of musical fantasy that will resonate with all fans of avant-garde rock and metal. The remarkable aspect of “Dysphonia”, beyond its experimental nature, is its abundance of compelling compositional ideas and fresh, catchy song structures."

BIO
Spineless is the project of vocalist and musician Chrysa Tsaltampasi.
Presenting a unique blend of influences ranging from Chelsea Wolfe to Godflesh, Ulver and Mike Patton, Spineless have released two full length albums, "Speaking of Chaos and Relative Peace" in 2018 (self-released) and "Dysphonia" in 2024 released by Greek record label Submersion Records in vinyl and tape. Spineless have built a following with their passionate live shows and excellent reviews in the press.
Chrysa Tsaltampasi is an internationally acclaimed vocalist and voice teacher, regularly participating in conferences and seminars about Extreme Metal Vocals organised by high profile European musical institutions. Gathering inspiration from a plethora of collaborations during the past few years such as working with Ben Frost for the soundtrack of the critically acclaimed “1899” Netflix series, also working with dutch Dj Tim Besamusca for the soundtrack of Hollywood series “Beauty and the beast”, “The secret circle”, “Star crossed”,
“Delirium”, recording with artists like Alkaloid, Scar of the Sun, Sofia Sarri, and Beyond Perception among others, Spineless present music delved in calculated anger, experimentation and brutal honesty.
Glimpses of light come through the thick rhythms, electronics and guitars that accompany Chrysa’s voice, in compositions that blend monolithic post metal with melodic songwriting, like watching Neurosis swirl around Mono, approached with a deep cut 90’s alternative approach.
